The MaxiCheck MX900 is an 8″ touchscreen, all-systems scanner, and service tablet. This powerful, corded tablet can read and erase codes, view Freeze Frame and, view and graph Live Data, and perform bi-directional Active Tests and Special Functions. The MX900 is also a full-featured service tablet with more than 40 Service and maintenance tasks, including Brake Bleed, Oil and Service lights resets, Battery registration, DPF regen, and Electronic Parking Brake and Steering Angle resets. The MX900 runs on Android 11 and is powered by 1.8 GHZ processor. The MaxiCheck MX900 also includes one year of software updates and a limited warranty.

Very poor (non-exisyent) customer service
I did not buy my MX900 from FCP, though feel a responsibility to share bad Autel experience with others. My little-used MX900 stopped communicating with vehicle, 12V confirmed at pin 16 on OBD outlet, new cable substituted, still no communication at all. Received RGA warranty return authorization, sent back unit at my expense. NO communication, NO progress after more than 2 weeks. Autel will not tell me what they are doing with my MX900 nor when I might expect to get it back. On a $500 diagnostic unit, this is unacceptable. Don't buy an Autel diagnostic scanner.

So far, so good.
It’s already save me a trip to the shop for work. AC fan speed increased, but wasn’t blowing out the vents. Did a reset, and now my car is cool inside. Also used it to shut off maintenance lights on our Audi instead of having to go to a shop. Downside - your friends will see you as their free mechanic when something goes wrong with their cars.

MX900
It completely stopped working after 10 months of use. Won't turn on. Free replacement is nice, but I don't have confidence the next one won't die too.

Made its money back already
Had it for 2 days and its already paid for itself with diagnostics. This is NEEDED for multi-brand car households. ISTA is great, but it cant help diag a Ford or Jeep ;)

The MX808 should reset the oil-change service light on your 2019 911, but we cannot confirm that it supports the updated 2025 911/992.2. Autel’s current public coverage does not specifically verify that application, so I would recommend checking with Autel directly prior to purchasing for confirmation.

I've tried multiple scan tools on my '26 MB C43 (W206.087) only to find that none of them can support DOIP and only can support CAN scanning. Because they don't support DOIP on this vehicle, none of the service related functions work. Does this tool actually support this vehicle and DOIP or is it just listed as a capability and hasn't been proven to work.

The MX900 is physically capable of DoIP communication, but we cannot confirm full service-function support for your 2026 C43 W206.087. Autel specifically documents W206 system coverage for its higher-level MS909, MS919, and Ultra platforms, but I would recommend send your VIN and the exact service functions needed to service@fcpeuro.com or directly to Autel so current 2026 coverage and functionality for the 900 can be verified before ordering.

How often are updates necessary? What is the fee for these updates? How do I obtain these updates?

Generally, these will automatically check for firmware and coverage updates when connected to the internet. The MaxiCheck MX900 comes with one year of free software updates, with subsequent updates available for purchase through the tool and linked Autel account only.

Does the MX900 read transmission temperature needed for a transmission flush and fill? In my case, this is needed for a 2020 XC90 and a 2021 XC60. If so, can you direct me to the specific module. Thanks so much...

Yes, both of these vehicles should contain PID for transmission fluid temp and this unit should be able to read the data stream for them. I would recommend contacting our service team at service@fcpeuro.com with this request for specific instructions on using this unit to find the data, however I can say it should be as simple as accessing the TCM Module and finding the live data option.

I looked on the Autel website to see if it covered my 2004 Volvo XC70, it only showed going back to 2008. Will this work on my 2004 or is it Volvo proprietary?

This will work with basic OBD2 functionality present on any vehicle back to 1996, when OBD2 was standardized. Some specific functionality may not be available for certain models depending on the unit and the model, and it appears this unit does not have communication methods for Volvo specific functions prior to 2008. That is not to say it wont work for what you are trying to do, but the specifics likely matter and are best addressed by the manufacturer.
